All grown up

This morning at 3 am Trae decided that nothing else would do, but playing with his always willing Mommy. I tried very hard to keep my eyes open and that sweet little boy entertained. Eventually the exhaustion of motherhood took over and Trae was left up to his own devises to entertain himself.
He didn't start to fall back asleep until 6 and then woke back up just before 9. Then this morning I was watching the news and loving him back to sleep, when suddenly he was in a sleep deep enough be put in his bassinet.
What freedom this allows! I started to run around the house putting away little things that were out of place, finish my bowl of cereal, go to the bathroom for the first time today, etc. when over the sound of the softly playing news I heard a coo. Was that my son? I paused the news and heard nothing. He must still be sleeping soundly. Man was Matt Lauer talking slow today or what? Another coo came from my room. Poor Matt will I ever be able to give him my full attention like the old days? I go to my room to find Trae wide awake, cooing, smiling and giggling to himself. I can't believe it!
My son was really entertaining himself. How often does he do this at night when I am wrapped up in my dream of walking on a beach with the sun beating down while I watch Jordan and Trae play in the water? My baby is growing up SO fast! I love that he was having a good time just being by myself, even though it reminds me that all too soon he will be playing in his room will his big boy toys.
p.s. Completely off topic Trae has this really cute blanket he got from the baby shower that was purchased at Target and in The Office Astrid (Jan's baby) has the same blanket!!! Episode 84

Updated Pictures

Trae isn't always so surprised looking it's just the orange light that appears right before the actual flash that kinda scares him. He has just gotten SO big I can't believe that next Friday he will be 2 months old! Trae no longer fits anything that is not made for 3+ months!!! We are such a happy little family. I promise to post pictures of his gummy little smile soon!

Mothers
I got this in an email today from my Mom. And in turn " Mom this is for you!!! I love you so much!!!!" For all you Mothers out there I hope you enjoy!
MOTHERS
Real Mothers don't eat quiche;they don't have time to make it.
Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensilsare probably in the sandbox.
Real Mothers often have sticky floors, filthy ovens and happy kids.
Real Mothers know that dried play doughdoesn't come out of carpets.
Real Mothers don't want to know whatthe vacuum just sucked up.
Real Mothers sometimes ask 'Why me?'and get their answer when a littlevoice says, 'Because I love you best.'
Real Mothers know that a child's grow this not measured by height or years or grade...It is marked by the progression of Mommy to Mom to Mother...
The Images of Mother
4 YEARS OF AGE - My Mommy can do anything!
8 YEARS OF AGE - My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!
12 YEARS OF AGE - My Mother doesn't really know quite everything.
14 YEARS OF AGE - Naturally, Mother doesn't know that, either..
16 YEARS OF AGE - Mother? She's hopelessly old-fashioned.
18 YEARS OF AGE - That old woman? She's way out of date!
25 YEARS OF AGE - Well, she might know a little bit about it!
35 YEARS OF AGE - Before we decide, let's get Mom's opinion.
45 YEARS OF AGE - Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?
65 YEARS OF AGE - Wish I could talk it over with Mom.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole, but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!
