Look alike contest

This isn't the best picture I could come up with, but I am on my parents computer. The black and white photo is of my Uncle Carl James Edgell II. People always ask me who he looks like and yeah he resembles us, but we think he looks most like Uncle Carl. That is Trae at just 4 months and Carl at 6.

Our little model

Uncle Nick (my younger brother) got his senior pictures taken last summer and knowing that we were about to have a baby he saved some of his credits for us to use on our bundle of love. Well today we put those credits to good use. To see the pictures you can go to lookatmccoy.com, followed by clicking on "enter and enjoy" and "clients". You will then need to enter the password 05190901kw. Trae was SO great considering he has been going non-stop since Friday. Check them out and let us know what you think!

First Official Mothers Day

Oh what a gift it truly is to be a Mother! I have a loving family who decided one day was not enough, but a weekend would be sufficient. The weekend goes as follows:
Saturday -

I wake up and play with Trae in the wee hours of morning allowing Jordan to finally get some much deserved sleep after lots and lots of homework. Just as Jordan got up Trae and I decided to crawl into bed together and take a nap. 3 hours later I awake to the sound of the washing machine. When I go to see if Jordan needs any help my Super Hubby has cleaned the house top to bottom. And I'm not talking unloading the dishwasher here I mean dusted, mopped, and scrubbed down the bathroom. Then we went to the BYU-Idaho fitness building to go for a family swim. We had a wonderful time!!! When I returned from baking I found 2 dozen beautiful roses sent from my Dad wishing me a wonderful and happy Mothers Day. I am so very loved!!!!

Then came the time for presents!!! My sisters wedding is fastly approaching and I am in much need of some color. For Mothers day I got a tanning package, and summer diaper bag, and a new summer dress! I am COMPLETELY SPOILED and love it! So I went tanning and to cut a long story short lets just say tanning beds are not what they were when I was getting ready for prom and I am a lobster in pain.
Sunday -
I awoke really sick from being sun burnt and Jordan doctored me back to health and took care of Trae the whole night. In the morning I was served the BEST french toast ever!!! And for an additional gift Jordan changed all of Traes diapers for the day!
Thank you Jordan, Trae and Dad for a wonderful first official Mothers Day!

Here is a picture of the flowers from my Dad!!! I LOVE roses and the smell of them have filled my house for the last fews days.

Just because

Ten Things I Didn't Know About Being a Mom Their Babies

  1. Just because your child can roll-over doesn't mean he will do it when other people are watching
Same for really awesome baby talk
  2. No one told me that once teething started YOU, the mom, would be the ONLY one this kid wants
  3. When they do simple things like sit up without support, you will cheer like they just won gold at the Olympics.
  4. Their smiles and giggles will melt your ubber strong, not at all gushy, heart
  5. You wont really mind changing diapers
  6. Your workouts become lifting that heavy kid a THOUSAND times a day
  7. Dad is a guy they use for fun
  8. Grandparents just laugh when you speak of being tired
  9. You will cry for nap time too
  10. There is nothing better in the world

Happy Mothers Day

The magazine Parenting Early Years was a gift from my mother and something I anxiously wait for every month to arrive. In this months issue the very back page had this:
Parenting top ten ways your life isn't like a reality show
  1. Your morning weigh-ins are mercifully Private
  2. No hope of trading up to a multi-millionaire, housekeeping husband who lives to give foot rubs in wacky wife-swap episode
  3. You drive a Ford, shop at Target, and drink Diet Coke all the live long day, but no one gives you a dime for product placement
  4. You endure hours of grueling photo shoots - but they're all at Sears and come out in wallet size with a faux-nature background
  5. The only Extreme Home Makeover you're getting is courtesy of a 5-year-old with markers
  6. You'd like to see Top Chef make three different dishes (one kid food, one vegan for your tween, and one that actually taste good for you) every single night
  7. You really did marry your big fat obnoxious fiance'. (And what's worse, no one paid you!)
  8. You never get voted off - even if you beg
  9. You're surrounded by "real" housewives - but like you, they haven't shaved their legs in days
  10. You know What Not to Wear, but Nothing Else Fits since you had kids

I hope this brought a little smile to your face even if you don't apply to more then one. Have a Happy Mothers Day! And may you not have to change any diapers.
