26 Weeks Along

Kellee is now 26 weeks along in what has been an amazing journey, and as her husband I feel that I should pay her a tribute for being such a wonderful person and soon to be Mother. Kellee and I have been married now for over a year and a half, and through that time we have experienced some amazing things together, so many that I just couldn't blog them all. But I do want to touch on a few of my favorite memories together. When Kellee and I first started dating, we spent everyday together for two weeks, but my favorite day was on a Wednesday when Kellee took me to an open field in Seminole Oklahoma and we laid out a blanket and just talked for about 3 hours, I learned so much about her that day, and it was that day that I knew that I wanted to spend my life with her. Another favorite memory of mine was on Kellees 20th birthday when with the help of Kellee's great friend Sarah we made it a day to remember with pearls a new dress and a steak dinner, followed by an amazing Cookie Monster at Craigos, I'll never forget the look on her face when the staff came out singing "Happy Birthday" priceless. And finally the day that Kellee told me that together we were going to have a baby. While I was at work, I knew that Kellee was seeing the doctor, but I didn't think anything of it, it wasn't until after Kellee wouldn't return my calls I began to think that something was up. When I got home I got a text message that said "can you come and see me NOW?" As I drove to her work a million thoughts ran through my head, but I had a completely calm feeling come over me when I saw her standing outside, I pulled up, got out of the car, and she asked me how I felt about being a Dad. I hugged her immediately and knew that from then on life would be different, and it has. Not a day goes by that I don't thank God for this amazing gift that He is giving us. These have only been a few of the amazing memories that I have had with Kellee and I feel like the luckiest guy in the world to be with such an amazing person. Kellee has pushed her way through every challenge that has come her way, and has made it through to the other side unscathed. And as the countdown to parenthood continues I grow to love my wife more and more each day for the example that she sets for me and the person that she is, Kellee really is my better half. I can't think of a more important role in life that parenthood, and I couldn't be more excited about the fact that in about four months I will be a Dad! My wife is such a wonderful example to me and I love her so much, and I look forward to the journey to come and the challenges that lay before us.
