Back when I was a teenager I had beautiful dark brown hair. It was one shade darker then my eye color. Which I thought was perfect because if I ever colored my hair and wanted to go a-natural that is all I'd have to say.
Well my eyes are lighter now then when I was younger (sad sad day), and all I want is to never have to color my hair again. I know, I know many of you told me long ago to never color it in the first place, but what can I say I'm willful.
So...
Here is the dilemma do I cut my hair short and let it grow back out and not color it (in cutting it short most of the dye will be cut off).
Or...
Do I just color it?
Let me say that I just LOVE my natural brown. I CAN NOT find it in any bottle. I miss it. And I kinda want to see just how many more gray hairs I've gotten since high school.
Jordan thinks I should just color it and keep it long, but what it the point of having long unhealthy hair?
Please debate. I know, I kinda have my mind made up, but what do you think?

Is it too different of color that you can't just leave your hair long and cut off the color a little at a time when as your hair is trimmed? Seems like it may be a good compromise. I am SO not stylish, my opinion probably should not count. :)
My sister is trying to decide the same thing. She said that she feels better with shorter, natural, healthier hair. She let it all grow out to natural and has it chin length.
I think healthier is better.

Your hair can still be colored and healthy! Promise.
Ok.... I've colored my hair many a time and many a color. I was going to say what jme said. It all looks like the same color, so I think you would be safe and still gorgeous to just leave it and cut it as it grows. Get it long!!
Oh an it was so nice to see you yesterday! Were you visiting another ward?
You should be able to go to a salon and have some one match it, you're hair would still be healthy after a trim and professional color. It sounds from your post you've already decided you want to cut it so really I think you're question is do you cut it or leave it long. I say leave it long and get a good color or like the girls above said-get regular trims and weed out the color that way.
I love you!
I started coloring my hair at about 14 years old...and did so up to about 2 years ago. So about 12 years. Now that I am older, I just hate all the fuss of coloring. Not to mention the ridiculous cost! So my hair gal found my natural color and we colored it a little shade darker, cause I had been coloring my hair very blonde those 12 years. It took me a couple times to get all the blonde out, but eventually I did. And I have to say it was the best decision ever. I do miss being a blonde at times, but I do not miss the hussle and bussle. And I have grown to really like my own naturalness:) Hope this helps!
My favorite part is that you kinda have your mind made up, so I'll wait for pictures!!!! :)
OH! and total bummer about your eyes turning lighter!
I have never met anyone who has kept track of something like the varying shades in their eye color!
You crack me up!
Go Long or Go Home! :)
Love you either way,
MJ

I recently went through the same dilemma....I chopped it off into a light and airy pixie and I am in HEAVEN! Not saying you would need to go that short, but I found it LIBERATING!
The no-color only lasted about 4 months and then I dyed it like, a dark cherry color haha!
But I am in full support of starting over!
HAVE FUN!
