It brought tears to my eyes

I am a Nursery leader in my ward (have I mentioned that?), and one of the best things about this calling is that you never know when a kid is going to do something SO funny you want to hold your stomach and fall over.

Yesterday, Shaylee threw a truck and it came apart. I took her to her parents and needless to say she knew she was wrong and did NOT want a talking too. I reassured her that she would be back in Nursery having a lovely time as soon as her mom finished talking with her. We arrived in the foyer full of parents and Shaylee walks right up to her mom and says "Mommy, I've been naughty." It was the cutest thing! One that I think will go in the quote vault.
When church is almost over we have music time. Usually a struggle but yesterday it actually worked. I had a sweet new nursery girl on my lap and wonderful Brighton sitting right next to me. When we sing the songs its more the leaders singing and less the kids, but we're pretty okay with that since they can't tell if we are in key. We started singing 'I love to see the Temple' when I realize that Brighton is looking right @ me and singing it word for word. I couldn't not cry!!! The only other time I cried to that song was when we sang it at the temple when my family was sealed all those years ago. Something about B knowing what those words were and what they meant has in a large way changed me.

I had a conversation with my mom the other day about the influence she has had and on so many lives. My mom was active enough to be baptized @ 8 but never again until she was a teen and did it on her own. She married a non-member raised 4 righteous children and her husband joined the church after 12 years of marriage. We were sealed as a family in the Frankfurt temple the following year.

Because of my Mom:
My dad is a member of the church (and was branch pres. for like 8 years. Maybe more I lost count)
All of her children (4) are too (oh and active)
She was 2 wonderful righteous Preisthood holding Sons-In-Law (and one more being added this summer)
And we can't for get her own Son!!!
Has raised 2 missionaries
And her Grandchildren are ones that are born in the Covenant!!!

I know this last part is random, but when I hear that song I think about all that!

Thank you Shaylee for the wonderful laugh!

Thank you Brighton for the amazing reminder that everything we do for good is for our Heavenly Father and for a wonderful purpose.

xo,
kellee
