Decided that the only time to give birth to a baby is in the winter. When it’s too cold to go and play outside. Too windy to have a picnic, and too gray for beautiful outdoor family fun and pictures.
No, the only time to labor is when the sky is a beautiful gray. You can look out of your windows and see the wind blowing the trees and be reminded of just how much your Heavenly Father loves you. And who wants to be cooped up inside in nice weather? I would rather sit in a bed and watch a funny movie (we will be watching “That Thing You Do” because J has never seen it and I think it’ll make for GREAT labor quotes) and push out a baby.
Yes, a day very much like today is the perfect day to labor and birth a beautiful bouncing boy. I say boy because it’s December and my brother is a December baby, TC is a December baby and my Mack will be too! But being a baby born at the end of December and a boy none the less makes it all feel extra wonderful. Today has been “a waste” As I put it to my Mr., but there are more perfect days to labor to come.
Back in 2008 (when TC was scheduled to come hell or high water on January 2nd, 2009) right as December came, my mother called me and said “so do you feel like the Mother Mary? Thinking of her gives you a whole different perspective this time of year doesn’t it?” And it really has.
